Position:		Community Support Worker

Hours:		20 hours weekly - hours are flexible. Days are Sat. and Sun.
Education/Training:		• A diploma in a field related to supporting persons with disabilities • Experience in working with individuals with a mental handicap/dual diagnosis • Formal training in the area of program planning or counseling
Required:		• Class V driver's License (Unrestricted Class IV License an asset) • Favorable driving record • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate • Criminal Record Search • Current TB Clearance test • Physicians Health Clearance • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Prevention • Any other training as required by licensing or the H.O.M.E. Society • The employee may be required to use her/his automobile • This position requires Union Membership
Job Summary:		Responsible for providing a home-like, comfortable and normative environment in the residential setting. Also ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to develop to the fullest extent of his/her abilities and desires. They will establish a warm and personal relationship with each individual living in the home and encourage the active participation of parents, siblings, and friends in each person’s life.
